Went to the lanes for the first time in a long while and ran into a local oldtimer at tamarac lanes and informed me Iggy is bowling on tuesday nights, so i will pay the old dog a visit and see if he has my share of the $12,000.00 he picked up in the back at seaview lanes in 1963 when we bowled doubles and he tanked the fist 2 and went went back to back 290s the next 2 to take both sides to the cleaners while i broke even. i guess with interest it should be close to 1/2 a million, maybe he'll have another heart attack when he sees me. the cane

went to the lanes, for 9pm league, but heard he was bowling early league , just missed him, but heard that the buff , was giving iggy pointers last year in that same league. i guess birds of a feather, however also heard the old man is physically weak also took 3 hours to go to a friends pro shop that should have taken 40 minutes, so i guess his middle 80s is catching up to him. will try to catch him next week . did spen some with 2 of the brooklyn crankers jeff and brother dave p and was told that they were bowling jimmy williams team, however, he and a couple others were taking a blind this night. the cane

Hey Cane, don't leave us hanging. Have you caught up with Iggy?
I still laugh just thinking about him and his antics. We all know so many.
He grabbed the money one night in Central by walking down the lane and rolled the ball six inches on his stomach to make a ten pin.
Walked back, took the pot and said to the kid he was bowling., "you fouled, I fouled" in his best squeaky voice.

posted an iggy story on another post, but he has aged, in mid eightys and dont even remember the heart attack match at av m vs stoop so he says, but said he did remember many other action stories. funny i still remember that night more than 40 years ago, i was bowling on 11 and 12 at av m he was on 19 and 20 vs stoop , and the whole place stopped at 3 am late on fri nite early sat am , to watch the ambulance come in with a stretcher and carry him out after picking him up from the approach lane 20 as he was suppose to be the 1st to go in the 10th , with the score 106 to 105 and he on the short end of the bet. all got a rebate for that match, and there was only about 50 to 60 in the house at that time my guess would be around july fourth weekend 1962 or 63 the cane

The Iggy heart attack story has to go down as the Number One funniest episode in Action Bowling history! Nothing can top it to this day. I am sure it is known throughout the planet to Pluto and the moon.

Actually Joe and I only bowled 2 times. Once was in 1991 and I went to where he bowled league and won 3 in a row. Then years later when I came out of retirement we bowled at centereach and I won the first game and ripped my thumb apart the second and I let Joe know I couldn't bowl after that game. We broke even that night. Joe is a great bowler and we never looked to bowl each other because there was easier money out there. I bowled and beat Learn, Revs who also beat me, Barnes and lost to Chris Warren at the park which was a rare thing doesn't me. I would bowl anyone and won a lot more than I lost. I hope Joe is doing well. He is a great bowler and a friend. He is a good guy. I love this site. Best night ever was at woodhaven when I won 9 straight. 3 against Steve Chiarella 3 against Bob Simonelli and 3 against snake. All very good bowlers. Worst night was right after I beat Revs 15 out of 17 games at Garden City he beat me 5 straight at Babylon. Miss you revs. Lots of great times together.
