He had aheart attack. Details were posted on the pba website. Remember that 299 against Ritger shooting 268 in final game of toc. Don left a four win. One of the greatest.

Ritger left the 4 pin in frame 8 and 8 pin frame 9 while Don left a ten pin on the 12th ball.

This explanation is correct--given the circumstance and event this might be the greatest 1 game match ever--24 balls in the middle of the pocket!

Don was a hellava bowler and a fun guy. He let me stay with him in vegas in 78 or 79 with my 1st ex.. then he let me use his address to register my motor home... loved the twirly bird. there was a time i could immitate him to a te.. of coarse with a high backswing.

He past away years ago. I think he had a heart attack. A wonderful man and bowling still misses him!!!
