I remember seeing a guy that bowled at Rosedale Lanes and a couple of the houses on the Island named the "Fish" He was an Army Recruiter that had the most unorthodox delivery and followthru of any one I've ever seen. I saw him on a couple of occasions demolishing the locals at $100 a game. I have not seen him sinse the late 70's. Talk about a hustler. He always seemed to bowl just a couple of pins over the opposition. I remember seeing him pot bowling, winning 160 or so to 155 over a fellow soldier at lunch time and later that same night rolling nothing lower then 190's and many mid level 200 games in group pot matches. I heard that he retired from the service and moved permanently to Queens. He used to do the funniest Elvis impression when he bowled. After releasing the last ball of any match he'd hit the deck with both knees as part of his follow thru, turn completely around, comb his hair, and when winning, which was quite often, accept the prize money by saying "Thank You Very Much? Is he still active?Or did some one shoot his sarcastic ass?
