Neumann was fired from all the leagues. Matter of fact Perry was so annoyed with Neumann for screwing his and perry's backer that Perry called him out. Nothing happened.

This is to Vito D.
Sorry, I never saw your post from back in July. I am in my early 60's. Had a pro shop for five years in upper Manhattan from 1963-68.
Went to all the Bronx, Westchester, Jersey, Queens and some Brooklyn houses for action.
Mainly Gun Post and Central.
Ernie's red ball was a Jubilere. I had one also. About two years ago Ernie was in Jersey for the Petraglia PBA stop. We were meeting for dinner and he asked me if I still had my old ball. Anyway, I brought it and gave it to him. He wanted to plug and redrill it to fool around with.
I think it's now in his garage back in Washington State.
Did you know Joe Cirillo? Saw him last week at his Pro Shop in the newly renovated and re-opened Paradise Lanes(Raceway). He's looking great and remembered me. What a super guy. Showed me a score sheet from last March. He shot 279, 279, 278 in a league. Not too bad for a man in his 70's.
Paradise is now run by John Kourabas who ran Inwood Lanes for many years. His father Chris also owned University and Paradise in the Bronx.
John has really fixed the place up with all new lanes, scorers, setees, balls, snack bar, carpets, etc. The place is buzzing. Plus the shot must be good since John is averaging about 223 in the Wednesday three man league.
We must know each other at least from all the action days in the same places.

Dear Stevie,
Thank you for writing back. I'm sure we must have crossed each other bowling one another or watching the action at gunpost.
I the last time I saw "Hook" Joe Cirillo is about 2-3 years ago. I know he opened up the shop at raceway lanes. He closed up the shop on White Plains Rd. Joe is still bowling wonderful for a man in his 70's. I have heard that the bowling facility has gone through some very nice upgrades.
I'm even more impressed with Al Pujol, who at 83 has more master wins than anyone on this planet is still shooting abou a 210 average on Thursday nights at Bowlerland. He still works everyday and walks 3 miles a day.
Thank you for confirming the Red ball Ernie used at gunpost. I thought that ball had some movement in it that wasn't traditional with his game. I remember at midnight on a Friday night at gunpost. The manager would announce that the action would be starting and would lay the lane conditioner with a bug sprayer. Like I said earlier, that kid 'The Bell' was very difficult to beat at gunpost. I had trouble all the time with him there. I was able to beat him at Pelham Bay Lanes and Danny's, which was off St. Raymonds cemetary.
Hope all is well with you and your bowling is going well. Wish I was able to pick up the ball again. I would like to hear your thoughts on all these kids bowling all this action under their home conditions. Write me when you get the chance.
Vito D.

Dear Louis,
Al is doing juat fine these days. Still walks three miles a day, drives his cab and bowls on Thursdays nights at Bowlerland. Still averages in the 21x's. No man on this planet has more super senior tournament wins and is still amongst the elite bowlers from the Bronx. Next time I speak to Al, I will ask him if he remembers you. We might have croosed paths on the bowling lanes in the late 60's or 70's. Have a wonderful day and write back when you can.

It is a possibility I started pot games and matches around 1972 when i was 13 at maple bowling pot games with tom cammillari, joe s , the Micali's, Spallone, colonna, Nicky box,val macari ,simo sr and bill picone . all great bowlers at maple also people i always admired.by the time I was 14 or 15 I would win money regurlarly on the lanes and by 18 most wouldnt bowl much singles if I bowled. That was the year I won my 1st PBA event. Than I quit bowling in 1982.

This is a reply to your message to Stevie Wonder of 10/13.
A bunch of Bronx guys are meeting at Dominick's on Arthur Ave. tomorrow for dinner and storytelling.
You must know some or all of us. About six of us from Inwood, University, Gunpost, etc. in the action days.
If you are able to come post here with your email and I'll give you details, time etc.

I bowled with and against Cherry Pie at Lyons Lanes and Hy-Way Bowl in NJ. A real nice guy, great teammate, and gave me solid bowling advice too many times.

The last time I saw Bob Perry was at Maple Lanes in the late 80's-early nineties-he was still getting high then. This was a guy who had a ton of natural ability. First time I met him was back in the 70's at Carteret lanes in NJ.

Perry now going by his real name Puchynski since he won the high roller a few years ago seems to be on the straight and narrow finally since the early seventies. We bowl in the same league at Van Wyck. Still curious why he has not used the name Perry in at least five years?

it's funny how you rip everyone and their opinions. i guess your the type of person that has to be right about everything, or the person who'll argue a point until it's moot. since your soooooooo opinionated about everyone and everything going on on this site, why don't you tell us who you think is the best right now. we know u don't like billy, alex, stillman, rubeo, pappas, joe scianna, dave, etc.etc. who's your guy, who 's the one person from around here that you would put your cash(if u had any) on. who's your horse.i'm curious, you obviously won't bet on yourself. you won't even tell us who u r. as some one who has never bowled action b4, u should keep all of your opinions to yourself.

I want to add Harry the hump, oops the horse to this list. This moron said how great he was, never missed a single pin spare and never made the same mistake twice. Sure. Believe that and also believe that I'm growing a pair of tits right now and I only weigh 150. WHAT A JERKOFF.

Hey - I missed this latest idiocy by idiotic old timer. As far as I can tell, this guy never bowled a frame in his life, certainly not in action, but he's commenting right and left on bowling and bowlers. Just for the record, except for when I was a league bowler, yes, I NEVER missed a one pin spare - in action, with - as I said at the time - the exception of an OCCASIONAL ten pin. Furthermore, I cannot remember any of the great bowlers I bowled against missing one either. It was simply unheard of. Except for a ten pin, how could anyone possibly miss a one pin spare.

Now, now, "Old Timer," you don't really think you're fooling anybody on this site with that fake "Reality Check" guest name. You're just pissed off because the REAL "Reality Check" had some nice things to say about me, and you're trying to fool everyone into thinking that now he's saying nasty things about me, but unfortunately for you, you are not fooling anyone. First of all, the REAL "Reality Check" was obviously an educated guy, and anyone reading your phony post can tell that you barely graduated kindergarten. "Penis" is spelled "P-E-N-I-S" you penis, not "Penus," which is how you spelled it. Secondly, "Reality Check" was a gentleman, which is something you can be safe in assuming no one will confuse you with. And once again, if only you knew how to read, (check my previous reading lesson for people like you to teach you how to spell "CAT") then you would have read that several people on this site have said that they saw me bowl and had nothing but praise for my bowling. The same has been said about Lou Capasso. There is one thing you should know - not having ever been an action bowler yourself, you haven't EARNED THE RIGHT to comment on real action bowlers of any era, or on bowling in general.
3/12/06 - Just so everybody knows: "Old Timer" deleted his post where he stupidly spelled "penis" as "penus."
