Hi Matt:
I knew Joe Zarra, he came to some of our family functions, there may be some relation-I dont know.
We used to talk a lot of bowling. One of his good friends(now deceased) Anthony DeVingo used to give Joe an unfair edge at times by spitting water on to the opponents lane. I write this laughing to myself of how much I enjoyed both those guys company

Hey rotonda ,,joe was a great bowler and guy,he would bowl anyone and for any amount of money, he beat alot of guys on the east coast he used to bowl at rizzutos and berras,or astro bowl no longer their in clifton also bowled at palladium lanes in orange ,and his last years here before he passed he bowled at eagle rock lanes, he bowled alot of action with a kid by the name of jeff leone the best action bowler in my opinion ever from new jersey, they were very good team together they used to bowl double matches for alot of money and very rarely lost any games,Leone was related to joe they said so he should also be related to you, joes best friend was a guy by the name of paulie smithers from newark, joe paulie and jeff used to golf at hendericks field course in belleville they used to close the course for those guys ,,,i think you know why...he was a big name in a certain family same as Leone....great guy great action bowler him and leone should be on the all time best list i wrote on the other post about them already....the zoomaster of this site should reconize both of them............if you ever run into a kid well now hes 36 or 37 by the name of JEFF LEONE run the other way, first tell him you are related to joe z,,,he should be related to you to,,,later...stump

My reply to rotunda was awhile back. But Stump, you have a lot to say throughout this site. I mean you no disrespect-we may know each other-but this is not the place. I bowled at Eagle Rock Lanes, and Palladium-where Anthony Smith walked in saying "I want you" while I was practicing, but never came on the lanes. I bowled against Mitch Sachs at 4 Seasons-he could not touch me-and we bowled head to head. I watched him bowl at hy-way-nothing impressive. However, when the Lyons Sunday Morning League moved to hy-way and I shot 2 300"s in 3 month's, and Danny Williams the Proprietor-called to congratulate me personally-Mitch Sachs was nowhere around. How do you base your ratings on the top NJ Bowlers?
I mean you no disrespect, but in Union County, the people that were put in the Hall of Fame, I dusted regularly.
