So I am a noob when it comes to bowling and have only been doing clubs for around 6 months, I have read all the stupid bowling tips at tipsforbowling.net, and have practiced every day, but what advice can you guys give me that will help me get better?! I really enjoy playing but need some boosts to my pathetic 160-140 scores..... I have tried talking to my team mates but its really embarrassing being the worse person on the team... I know that practice makes perfect, but I am practicing and I swear I just keep having the same problems again and again, like every other frame the ball curves waaay to the left, I have heard buying a custom ball will help me control this but is it true, and if so what brands do you recommend, what core types, etc. I really appreciate this guys!!! seriously, anyone help!?!

Well we have all been embarrassed and that should not be. If you want to be better then you have to follow these suggestions. 1- forget what is around you and concentrate on execution of your shot. 2- Keep a free arm swing as this will straighten out your shot and help to make it easy to repeat. Pendulum swinging the ball. If you can adjust the hight of your push away to gain speed. This will take some practice because you need to adjust your pace by the level of the swing. Longer swing needs a slower pace ( increases speed) and a shorter swing (held lower for oil) need a faster pace so your ball arrives at the release point at the same time. 3- Get coaching, video your approach, and get Jowdy's book Execution, and 4- You need to adjust hand position to get the right ball reaction. Example, last night I was bowling Eddie Robert and he started off great but oil carrydown started to make the shot skid hook at different times leaving many strange leaves. I flatten my swing with my hand coming up the back of the ball at a slight angle. Finished with 5 and after making a bad shot had the next 7 strikes before I had to change because of my bad shoulder. Later changed balls and struck out with the new Hammer Rayz. Keep practicing but do the right things.
