I’d like to welcome everyone to ActionBowers.com
I grew up bowling action in Brooklyn New York and it was the best part of my life, I feel bad for any action bowler that was born in the last 30 years or so, you’ll never know what it felt like to be able to walk into many different houses throughout the NY area anytime after 12 midnight, seven nights a week, and find many big and small time action matches going on all night long.
Certain houses in there prime would have from 5 to 15 or more matches going on at the same time, most matches lasted many hours, not 2 or 3 games, over and out.
Many a night there would be a couple of hundred people just betting on the side. It was a great time, a time that will never happen again, I miss it very badly, what a shame.

Sturtz was a funny guy, we used to play poker after bowling and he would raise the bet by saying "here comes Kush Kush". Annoyed the hell out of us.
Don't know where he is now.

johnny campbell was a real good lefty from the bronx. Bowled alot of action at Fiesta. How about Tony the tiger who was not that good but what a character. He always bowled in a teeshirt. Remember Pepsi, he was the best character and a horrible bowler. He would always find away to lose even bowling 160 bowlers. Old man billy kidd who was a deuce in the sixties. ice in the tenth. Always there. Joe the lock who died many years ago, not missed. He always wanted the edge which we all wanted. He would never bowl unless he was 10, 20 pins better and he was 190. Frank Petersen from jersey who had the easiest matches in the world. so underrated. he lived off of the action. One thing I loved about this guy was that he would go into his pocket, five ten times a game just to count his money. And he always carried at least a grand. A cheap bastard. if you needed to borrow a small $20, he always made an excuse.
