this ritchie guy couldn't carry joe s bag in the good old days when each house and each lane in that house had it 's own character he was the best period..... ridgewood lanes had 90 lanes and a mon. nite league with the best bowlers from all boros and he was the only one that ave. over 200---202 to be precise. not to many tried him 1 because he was good and 2 he was tough to beat for alot of cash sounds like another hustler I know. again the difference between a hustler and a action bowler is the hustler is smart about whom to bowl and the action guy just wants to get it on win or lose, sounds like an EGO thing to me. one more thing joe never had a job and never wanted one because there were to many FISH in the sea. so to all those head bangers hows that job your working at, joe hes retired an probably with your money (ha,ha)

sickle st what's your thoughts about the ever controversal Iggy Russo, some think he was the best bowler that ever threw a ball, he was for sure one of the biggest, colorful characters of all time.

Ritchie is full of shit. do not mind him since he shoots dope. Joe was pretty good in his day. he once beat johnny meyers, who had two pba wins, for over 1OG. That only happened beacause they took meyer's check. The check was good.

the truth on joe s is he was a GREAT bowler. for those of you that know me i was pretty good in the day. I learned alot from joe s he was a pocket shooter . the man could hit the pocket like no one i know. he was also a good guy, never cheated or said bad things about other bowlers. i owe joe s alot and anyone to talk bad about him is not someone i would associate with

Richie, you need humanity lessons. Don't call anybody garbage who was a class act and a good bowler. Capasso and Santini were both real good.
What's going on with so many people getting nasty?

action fan: iggy was the best spare shooter i ever saw. iggy could throw full roller or tight three quarter roll, and was deadly accurate. i bolwed with him and against him, but to tell you the truth you never knew which way he was betting in the case with the heart attack match at av m vs stoop 1963 also the only time i knew which way iggy was going was after he tanked me at seaview vs phil marino and petey anos in a doubles match where we actually split 4 games and iggy cleaned house while i split. i went 258 and 248 to lose and the bet went from 200 to 2000 and he covered it all after bowling 18 and 190 and proceeded to throw back to back 290s. 2 weeks later at leader lanes its midnight on a thursday and myself joe c and tony farina only bowlers in the house , so we are leaving when iggy walks in and says to me want to be my partner again , against these two. looking around, with no side action we played for 25 a man and the three of them bowl in the 190s to low dueces and bowl 4 games in the 220s when the match ends , i say to iggy , " you and me for 50" he says ok , and i throw spare 5 bagger , and he has 3 btreaks threw 6 picks up his ball and says , i'm going home with 50 tonight and i proceed to pick up all the lines(18 games at 50cents a game) the pair was 5 and 6 and i knew how to get arount all the dead spots on the pair, which had to played around 456 for the best carry 18 to 20 to get to the hole but weak carry 10 pins or like iggy 10 to 12 5 10 split or 5 8 10 . that house was noted for 5 7 10 as well , which i left on more than one occassion but to answer how good was iggy, he could bowl you low score and bowl 60 easy and i once saw him with 14 in the 7thand bowl 29

To Richie I know you want every one to think you are the hornet but we know its not. how I know is Richie and I were VERY close Friends at one time so close that his son is my Godson. and he would never talk about me or joe s that way EVER. he is respected and has respect something you seem to lack. Listen to the cane he has been around he knows what Joe s was like and about me you can say what you like. it really doesn't matter now anyway.

Joe S "The Cadlapa" is a great guy, I don't understand why everyone is talking about him in the past as if he is dead, long live such a loving and funny guy!
I know that Joe S was a good bowler, perhaps not great compared to a few others but in his day, he was good, he was accurate, he could make spares, he knew the game and he was a fun, loving guy!
At least those of us that know Joe S and those other good and great bowlers of that great bowling era, are here to reminisce on it, we know what bowling was all about and though we may have, or may not have liked some of the bowlers for whatever the reason, that was all on a personal note and there is no need to be cruel about these bowlers years and years after the fact. I for one and many I know simply love Joe S, he will always be to me a wonderful man, a funny guy and a good bowler.
Obviously the sorry asses that come here to down Joe S or any other bowler, irrespective of how they feel towards them, are born losers, it is very easy to hide behind a screen and post crap, so if that's the way they ejaculate, then by all means, let them go right ahead.
WE KNOW the real deal! These idiots are not worthy of the attention they seek, thats for sure, so we shouldn't give it to them!
I Miss Joe Santini: "The Cadlapa" Translation: Bush Eater...

Joe S in the fifties and early sixties was one of the top bowlers in the NY area.
