One thing we had for sure was a collection of alley rats, characters, weirdos, from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s.
I'm talking about the guys who lived in the alleys, the guys who were born and died in the alleys, the guys who didn't know about a life outside of the alleys, and the guys that were just plain great characters no matter how often they were there.
I'm sure there's plenty of great stories out there, I for one would love to hear some.
One such a character is Buffalo, maybe the Cane would bless us with some spicey inside stories about his baby brother.

Buffalo won a tournament by filling in the score when they were not looking. Think first prize may have been a new car. spallone and snake and somebody else were bowling in a kegler. buffalo gave the scorekeeper $20 to go to the snackbar and buy food and drinks. He took over. by the time the scorekeeper returned, these three each had a six timer. these are the good stories. you do not want to hear the bad ones.

buff gave a scorekeeper 5 bucks to buy drinks for the pair including the scorekeeper at av m , on 27 and 28 and when the score keeper got back the 4 had 8 baggers after the 2nd frame going into their fill balls. the 4 were probably, snake , jamsie , the cheese and topper.

I saw Buffalo at Showplace in Staten Island over 15 years get some 190 bowler on the lanes who did not know him. Buffalo five straight. Every game came down to the tenth. He knew how to keep it close. The last I heard he's flipping burgers at some alley in Florida.

nothing wrong with keeping it close, i use to always open in the tenth with a 33 pin lead, my opposition would double or strike out, and go for another, and another, always thinking , i lost it and they found it. just part of a hustle, not like snake one night, a guy comes in with probably 5 grand , and the 1st bet is 300, and snake shoots 279 to the guys 2teen and quits, thats a loss of at least a grand if he knew how to keep it close, but again , snake always knew as much or as or more than his tutor, when he was told to open in the 9th and tenth that time

Buffalo did that at the Vargo 1 year also.I beat him at 3 straight at kenmore one night and he borrows 100 back from me and bets on me against archie more wins 400 as i beat archie 4 straight. next match he wins 600 as i beat a guy named clarence 3 straight. after its over I ask buffalo for the 100 back. says he would give it to me thursday at maple. never saw it . typical buff.
