(Transfered From The Nostalgia Board)
Action Bowlers.com will be getting a face lift and a lot of new sections added and up-dated in the near future.
The first item I need everyones help on is matching up the great oldtime action houses with the well known house bowlers from each house, (Bowlers From That House)
I'd like a seperate list for each city or county, such as
Brooklyn
Ave M Bowl - Mac & Stoop - Bernie Bananas - Red - Colony Bowl - Phil Marino OLd Parkway - Fats & Deecon Frankie & Johnnies - Joe x & Bee Bee Notaro Leemark - the Horn King Lanes - Bobby Smith Fortway - Johnny Petraglia Rainbow - Mark Roth Strand Lanes Bedford Bowl - Horn Fitzimmons Seaview - Phil Marino Sid Gordons Leader Lanes - Horn Elmwood - Sal Polizzi - Sal the Plumber & George Windsor Lanes Paradise Lanes New Parkway Gil Hodgers Diplomat Kenmore - Mario G - Lou capasso - archie Young - Kevin Rainbow - Mark Roth Maple - Horn - Joe S - Val - Lou Capasso Bay Ridge Lanes - Joe S - The horn - Joe Polumbo
Just keep adding the names of the action houses and the house bowlers from each.

Posted at Bay Ridge Lanes joe s then the horn. Why? Joe s may have taught richie the game but at their best, joe s could not shine the horn's shoes.

Seaview-Bert goodman Bert was a great bowler in his day and should get some recognition. He did beat alot of top bowlers. I had the pleasure of bowling with him atBowlmor and maple in his older years and was still a top bowler. not only that he had some great stories. I spoke with him recently and is doing well.He and joe s were great friends mentors and CHARACTERS of the game.

Green acres closed before Scianna was bowling action. Lemon was the best ever from the island and in all houses. Mchugh was never better than him in any L.I. house. Kitter was great after Lemon was out of the game, otherwise Lemon would have kicked his ass also.

Hey cane, give me your thoughts on these match ups (in their pime) at their house and at a neutral house
Billy Picone vs Louie Spadaro Bert Goodman vs Bob Simo SR Joe Santini vs Iggy Russo Ralph Engan vs Jeff Kitter Mousie from elmwood vs Val The horn vs Pete Weber Lemon vs Marshal Hollman Petraglia vs Roth Berardi vs Walter Ray
That's it for now, I love your thoughts and knowledge of the old action days.

as far as the match ups go billy picone edge over louie except at av m bert over simo iggy over s man although they were good buddies and worked many deals s edge at fortway and the ridge val over mousie val grossly underrated horn and petey pick em edge horn in clutch the best lemon mark johnny pick em depends on the house and condition walter ray is unreal house shot different story but i still would go with him in a grind condition and marathon ralph and jeff pick em dewpends what conditions

Iggy at his best when he was trying was better than Santini. The horn at his best would have beaten pete weber(why not, rudy beat him three times). Jeff at his best a little better than ralph. Lemon would have beaten holman for money. Roth crushes rags. and the best mentioned so far WRW sends berardi packing. Berardi lost to snake who was tough 20 years ago but no berardi. Now the horn and lemon at their best against wrw. My pick WRW the best I have ever seen.

rags could crush mark at fortway maple and green point and 1 and 2 at the old parkway and hodges where johnny averaged better than 260 to win a regional in the match play after mark averaged 236 to lead qualifying so again house and conditions dictate , but neutral mark

I didn't see glenwood lanes mentioned , as stevey wonder said jack clemente was tough but at glenwood he was tougher. I once saw him bowl ernie and beat him 5 games in a row until he quit. the scores were high and each game down to the tenth jack was up 1 pin and they both struck out and jack won by that pin, it was exciting even thou I lost. another time it was doubles, ernie and john juni(another name from the past and a great bowler)lose to jack and someone I can't recall, all great matches. In glenwood my money would be on jack.
