Lemon's house was not Falcaro's. Of all those mentioned, he was the best with Kidder in second place and Mchugh third.

this thread brings back some great memories I'm 59 years old now and Iget chills reading all these stories one of the best matches I ever saw was Jack Clemente and Ernie Schlegel against Ralph Engan and John Juni at the hub in Nyack,NY jack and ernie cleaned them out I remember the last game the owner of theHub took the money from all the registers in the house , the front desk, the bar and the snack bar Jack and Ernie put the game out of the wood in the ninth frame. When we came back to Glenwood Jack bought breakfast for all of us. what memories

Ernie and Jack were both great action bowlers, that must of been a good night to remember. It always had a real good feel when you went on the road and creamed your opponents. Was this match set up in advance or just came about by Ernie and Jack walking in there.
How well did Engan bowl that night, he was one of the best.
The modern day action bowlers spends more time knocking each other than actually bowling, what a shame...
I use to get chills just walking into Paramus in it's hey days of their classic league, some real good match games after the league.

my earliest memories were of thursday night pots after the maple major league. with the likes of billy p, simo sr, joe s, eddie o, the horn, and 10 other guys bowling 10 and 20 dollars a game across 4 or 6 lanes. i was 10 or 11 when i 1st watched them with my dad. i started bowling with them when i was 15.and remember the 1st night i was the big winner when i won 2 and finished 2nd once. it was a big thrill to go to millers on new utrecht ave and pick up the tab . bad news school sucked on friday..............

Millers, now that's a memory, right on the corner, best breakfast food around. (although Maple also had some pretty good food) Do you remember the platnum blond waitress that worked the 12 am shift to early morning in Millers, I think her name was Florence?

NA JUST REMEMBER THE HOME FRIES. I WOULD HAVE 2 BREAKFASTS EVERY TIME... THOSE WERE FUN TIMES. I FEEL MY TIME ON TOUR WAS TO SHORT, BUT I HAD SUCH GREAT MEMORIES OF ACTION AND POTS. BAY RIDGE AND MAPLE WERE MY 2 HOMES. BUT HAVING PEOPLE LIKE JOHNNY PETRAGLIA , JOE S , THE HORN, THE MICALI,S O'GRADY, CAMMILLERI, LAUTATO,PICONE SIMO SR, SPALLONE, MAN SO MANY TOP BOWLERS TO LEARN FROM.IT WAS AMAZING. PLUS THE FACT THERE WERE GREAT KIDS TO BOWL AGAINST THEN TOO. NICKY SANTAGATA WAS A GREAT BOWLER( MADE A SMART CHOICE AND BECAME A JOCKEY)SO WAS SCOTTY, MIKE M,FRANK GRASSO (3 STAR) TOUGH BOWLERS GROWING UP. WE USE TO BOWL A JUNIOR MATCH AGAINST MADISON SQ GARDEN EVERY YEAR FOR THIS BIG TROPHY, AND THEY HAD ROY GARCEA. HE WAS ONE OF THE BEST I HAD SEEN. SMOOTH ,ACCURATE AND A DEADLY ACTION BOWLER. HE WAS SCARY GOOD AS A TEEN. WE TOURED TOGETHER ONE YEAR. HE DID BETTER THAN I. MATTER OF FACT WHEN I WON THE REGIONAL AT PLAINVIEW IN 1977 HE WAS MY 1ST MATCH IN THE FINALS. AFTER I WON THAT MATCH I FELT INVINCEABLE AND WAS WINNING ALL MATCHES IN THE FINALS.EXCEPT THE FINAL BUT BY THEN IT WAS SO OUT OF REACH MY OPPONANT ED JABLONSKI WOULD HAVE HAD TO SHOOT 300 AND I HAD TO HAVE A HEART ATTACK THE GAME BEFORE....

yea, it's reaaly a shame you didn't stick with the tour at least a few more years.
What's your fondest memories, the tour or action bowling, did you bowl any action while on tour...
