if your back is really bad, I would forget about it. it will only get worse if you push it. many bowlers left the tour because of back problems, namely the great carter. he picked up the game again in his later years bowling in one of his establishments in league play with his rich partners. I can see you have the itch. It's not worth it.

Thanks for the concern. But this site is making me itchy. I love all this action stuff. for 20 years i still go in a bowling alley and smell the lanes ,sounds weird but as a kid walking in maple the smell of the lanes and the oil,was exilerating. squeezing my thumb in my ball trying to get it in. cranking that 1st ball in pain watching the break point. I just have to try, at 44 and 60 pounds overweight will me a funny site but I gotta do it , Thanks again for the advice.

Lou I think you should bowl, i am an old bowler from maple lanes and hodges. I wached you grow up at maple you and nicky were the best upcomung bowlers i ever saw. Do you remember when maple jrs bowled madison square garden. John petraglia's father would coach you. I also remember the charity math you and johnny bowled for the lukemia foundation. Please make a come back and come to maple we miss you. Debbie C.

Dear superstar I am glad you dont think I was all that good But DID you bowl me probobly not Bit if you did you probobly lost same at bay ridge or kenmore and definatly la guardia. you can talk all the trash you want. remember I didnt need an afterschool job all i did was what i loved bowled pot games at maple or a match and if you did bowl me thanks for the money!!!!!!!and debbie c thanks for the vote of confidence. oh yea superstar i can see you have a problem since you need a handle like superstar from maple becouse nobody else thinks you are a superstar .; Here are the real superstars of maple Rags,Val, picone ,Snake, Joe s , Joe M, Spallone, and hopefully myself. In these posts I have put nothing but the truth and answered all q's as best and honestly dont knock people unless you are ready to use your own name. But one thing is true I never lived up to my potential on tour. But I also gave it up at 22 in 1981. Thank you for the posts every one has written good or bad, I feel that if you remember me at all I left some mark on the game. Thank you

surprised in your last response you forgot about the horn. by far the best ever from Maple. Debbie C does not sound like Colossi's ex. This person seems older. Debbie is married again for a few years to a bowler and has another child.

Hi sc horn really wasnt a maple bowler . he did bowl pot games there mid sixty's but not action except against me and you were probobly there both times once hewhooped me 2 days later I whooped him.Figure I would quit after that. what is funny I did beat alot of top bowlers but only bowled them once . Kitter, cliff, behrbohm, etc. etc. figured since I won had nothing else to prove. By the way there are some other names from maple that were good action shooters. Yenza, was tough in action he was laguardia at some of the matches i bowled there. we would shoot dice outside the lanes with the horn and all the other guys for a while after the action was done those were good times Debbie C was a good shooter so was my ex Debbie she was one of the best women i had ever seen. I am glad Debbie collossi is re married and hopefully happy. she is a nice kid. talk to you soon. LC

I dont understand the badmouthing here. seems like Lou is sincere in all his posts. I bowled against him and heres my opinion. he was a great bowler, he was a loadmouth. he was in my opinion the originator of todays power bowlers. He was the first to overpower conditions. he was not a choker he was not the greatest bowler . but I have not seen or heard about him in about 15 years. Hey lou sounds like you FINALLY grew up. be well.

Every one has to badmouth somebody becouse they feel they are the best themself. I feel everyone is entitled there own opinion. But I can always reflect on my own accomplishments without regret. I won pba events ,local events , regional events(non pba) sweepers, marathons, king of the hills and most all of the matches I bowled. The only regret is I quit the game too young, but, life goes on !!!!!

Lou ,nobody bowled like you back in the day no one could ever knock your talent , so dont let it bother you. Come back to the game I'll bet you could still bowl. maybe take another turn on the tour. Or bowl some of these wanna be's and teach them a lesson. Or teach them how to bowl!!

I AM GLAD SOMEONE REMEMBERS AT ALL. WHO DID YOU MEET? I WAS OK JUST HAD GOOD LANE READING SKILLS AND ALOT OF BALL WITH A ACCURACY. OOOPS THATS BOWLING. THAT WAS A TIP TO ALL YOU UP AND COMING BOWLERS . WHEN YOU PRACTICE PRACTICE ACCURACY. THAT DOES NOT MEEN THROUGH STRIKES THAT MEANS TRY HITTING THE 3 PIN EVERY SHOT WITHOUT HITTING THE HEAD PIN. OR SETTING UP THE 4-6 AND PUTTING YOUR BALL BETWEEN IT WITHOUT HITTING EITHER PIN. SORRY DIDNT MEAN TO SOUND LIKE A TEACHER BUT THIS IS GOOD STUFF AND FREE ADVICE, E MAIL ME IF YOU WANT MORE INSTUCTIONS

In his heyday, the great Roth would bet that he could go between the 4 and 6 50 times. the few times he bet, he never lost. He was the first bowler to ever flatten his hand and wrist that I remember.

YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT MARK BUT IT WAS PETRAGLIA THAT SHOWED THAT TO ME BUT I WOULD ALWAYS THROUGH A STRIKE SHOT NORMAL TO MAKE IT A SUCCESSFUL PRACTICE.

Forgot about Ralph Engan and Joe Hooks Cirillo. Ralph always played inside and nobody hooked the lane more than Joe Hooks.

Joe "Hooks" Cirillo is still bowling - he runs the pro shop at Cross County Lanes in Yonkers, NY.
Still an excellent bowler - and a gentleman.

Hey Lou you were a great bowler I am shocked to see your name since I have not seen or heard about you in over 20 years. I bowled on tour with you for about 5 years there were only a handful of people who could bowl like you but I bowled you twice in top 24 compitition and both times I beat you with 300 games Do You Know Who I Am ?

Superstar posted in May and claimed nobody beat Kidder. Not so. He won big and he lost big. In 1978 he traveled to Baltimore and bowled Pete Couture. He lost 5g.

I remember the only man to beat me with 300's twice was Guppy Troup. But I once beat Joe tusa with back to back perfecto's at maple lanes when i was 16. 1 st game we tied with 300 each. a rare feat in those days. Tusa was never the same after that. he had just won the like tourny there and fininished 3rd. but i ended up with mine and his moolah.

any one notice that lou only posts his wins. the guy was a rag. he owes me money, his wife left him, he couldn't win any tourny. he talks about how easy the lanes are today. he just said that he tied tusa with 300 almost 30 years ago. i guess they were hard lou. when they were hard, lou averaged 185. that big backswing never impressed anyone, even the hornet.
a friend until you screwed me for money

hey Lou you dont have to defend yourself, you are still a class act. You were a great bowler and for someone to bring up shit fro 25 years ago about ex wives and stuff is childish.
